ABOUT EMILY
Emily earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2010 at New York University. She began her career working in large private practice clinics, and was promoted to a clinical directorship. In May 2016, she was inspired to leave that position in order to see patients independently in a 1-on-1, customized, specialized treatment environment.
Treatment Background
Emily has treated orthopedic diagnoses from the temporomandibular joint (jaw) to the metatarsals (feet and toes). She treats both surgical and non-surgical cases, and also has experience working with the pediatric and mature populations.
Emily specializes in work with athletes, from yogis to marathon runners to circus artists. She teaches yoga and acrobatics at Warrior Bridge studio, which is conveniently located next door to her physical therapy office in the Seaport neighborhood of Lower Manhattan. She also teaches a series of anatomy workshops designed to inform movement instructors about the ways they can apply concepts of physiology in their classes.
Always Learning
Continuing education coursework includes Maitland manual therapy courses, Institute of Physical Arts core training and PNF strategies, Rock Tape, and Fascial Counterstrain. Emily believes in collaborating with her patients to work towards their goals through individualized treatment programs. She is constantly amazed by the human body’s capabilities to move and heal itself, and feels she could study the body and all its unique abilities for the rest of her life!
